Body Republic is a global community committed to providing safe, diverse and non-judgmental venues for women to voice the experiences of their bodies. Through all women’s contribution to and participation in our community we seek to legitimize the visibility and validity of women’s voices, eradicate societal barriers that limit the perception and roles of women, insist upon and protect women’s most basic and universal rights and build bridges of cross cultural understanding, support, and connection. The principal part of a speech or document Historically, individually and collectively women’s bodies have been a principal part of the visual, spoken and written documentation of nations, institutions, businesses, communities and family structures. Our bodies are a life giving source of nurturance, comfort, and love. They are desired, possessed, sold, humiliated, tortured, raped and murdered. Our bodies voice a never ending story of our lived experiences of grief and celebration. Why Republic?
